Using bits of smalti, glass and other precious objects, I assemble each hand cut piece like a banded linear puzzle. The layers and striations are inspired by geological formations of earth and water. (Sold)

Working with Habitat for Humanity and Charlottesville Public Schools children, we created a mural for a new affordable apartment unit. As the elevator door opens, you arrive at this welcoming 4’ x 8’ ceramic tile mural.

Frames for mirrors or images, yours or mine. Finished prices range from $35 and up. This is a great first project for a new learner. I will teach you to design, choose substrates, decide on materials and colors and design your frame. We will finish it with grout for a permanent and lasting art object that is ready to hang.

There dimensional forms pose their own challenges with gravity and gluing. It’s such a satisfaction when the design works against all odds.

This 16” x 20” mosaic uses stained glass and iridescent glass to create feathered texture throughout. The image was from photos I took of our hummingbird feeding on the canna flower. This was a commission for a collector.

“Clouded Landscape” is a tall piece made with stained glass and iridescent glass, all hand cut. It measures 42” x 18”. I am influenced by the paintings of Marsden Hartley. He creates abstract volumes with his landscapes.

In my search for the perfect turquoise tile I acquired many samples over the years. This wine table shines with the best shades, don’t you think?

This mosaic bathroom is attached to my studio. I took the theme from the pool which is right outside. I have completed the floor (see floor mosaic) and am getting closer to the wall mural being complete. I work on it weekly in small spurts and have had a few visitors lend a hand to learn the process. I am always willing to welcome you!

9’ x 9’ Glass tile, mirror, beads, shells

If you come to the Historic Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, look for the big yellow planter with my mosaic shovel and rake. It’s next to the sunny mosaic loveseat. We have a collection of over 60 local and regional artists. Members work in the coop to make this 27 year old establishment operate.

Using cement forms, I mosaiced these so they are outdoor proof.

Using a paper mache base, this indoor pumpkin takes its inspiration from Pop Artist, Yayoi Kusama. There’s so much joy in polka dots, isn’t there? 14” tall, stained glass and iridescent tile
